Lovable alternative
The Lovable alternative for agencies that sell websites
Short answer
Lovable is an AI software engineer you chat with to build websites and web apps, with no technical knowledge needed. Skip the Pitch is a desktop app for agencies and freelancers who sell websites to local businesses: it finds the prospects, grades their current site, builds a bespoke showcase site to pitch with, and tracks the deal to won.
They are not really substitutes. If you want to build an app, use Lovable. If your problem is finding local businesses with weak websites and winning them as clients, that is a different job, and it is the one Skip the Pitch does.
Lovable pricing and features verified on 4 August 2026 from their pricing page. We re-check quarterly. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.
What is the actual difference?
Lovable solves the build step. Skip the Pitch solves the whole sales motion, and building the site is one step inside it. That difference shows up in three places: what happens before the build, how the build is metered, and what happens after.
| Skip the Pitch | Lovable | |
|---|---|---|
| Find local business prospects | ||
| Grade a prospect's existing site | ||
| Build a complete website with AI | ||
| Track the deal to won | ||
| Build general full-stack web apps | ||
| Free tier | ||
| Runs in the browser | ||
| Needs your own AI account | ||
| Unlimited builds |
"Needs your own AI account" is a real cost on our side, not a feature. It is also the reason our builds are unlimited. Both rows are the same trade seen from two directions.
How does the cost of building compare?
This is the difference that matters most if you build for clients. Lovable meters the build. Skip the Pitch does not, because builds run on your machine using your own Claude, Codex or OpenRouter account.
Lovable
One credit balance covers building, hosting and any AI features inside your shipped app. Cost per message varies with task complexity. Monthly plan credits expire two months after they are issued.
- "Make the button gray"0.50 credits
- "Remove the footer"0.90 credits
- "Add authentication with sign up and login"1.20 credits
- "Build me a landing page, use images"1.70 credits
Skip the Pitch
No build meter at all. Builds run locally on your own AI account, so a plan never caps how many sites you make. Plans differ on two things only: how much managed Google discovery you get, and how many published sites you can keep live.
The honest trade: you supply and pay for your own Claude, Codex or OpenRouter account, and the app needs a Mac with Apple silicon or a 64-bit Windows 10/11 PC.

When should you choose Lovable instead?
Often, and we would rather say so than waste your time. Lovable is built for individuals and product teams building their own software. Workspaces take unlimited members, so it suits a team sharing one credit pool.
- A free tier that needs no credit card and no AI account of your own.
- Unlimited workspace members on every plan, priced by credits rather than per seat.
- Builds full web applications, not only marketing and showcase sites.
- Browser-based, so it runs on any machine and any operating system.
- Hosting, custom domains and a security centre are handled for you.
If any of those describe you, use Lovable. It is a good product and it is not trying to do what we do. See Lovable
When does Skip the Pitch make more sense?
When building the site was never the hard part. If you already know you can make a good website, and the actual bottleneck is finding businesses worth pitching and getting them to say yes, then a builder alone leaves most of the job undone. Lovable does not attempt:
- Discovering local businesses that need a website.
- Scoring how weak a prospect's current site is.
- Any pipeline or deal tracking after the build.
Skip the Pitch does all three, plus the build. You walk into the conversation with the finished site already made, which is the entire idea: see how it works.
